Welcome to the Matrix
8th Grade Hobby Video
Part 1:
1. Find 2 pictures that feature your favorite hobby and save them in your student folder in the H drive.
2. Open Windows Movie Maker, import those pictures that are saved in your student folder, and place them in the order you would like them to go in your movie presentation. (This is only an 8 second video, and so each picture should be exactly 4 seconds long)
3. Select “Titles and credits” and you want “Title on the selected clip”. On the first line, write your first and last name. On the second line, write the name of your favorite hobby. You can change the title animation, text font, and color if you want.
Part 2:
3. Click on “Tools” and select “Narrate Timeline”. After you click “Start Narration”, tell the audience who you are, what your favorite hobby is, and what the picture is showing. Make sure you save your narration to your student folder. (Ex: “My name is Matt Murphy and my favorite hobby is playing the piano. This is the cover of my new album on iTunes, and it’s called ’Come Home’ ”
4. When you are done, save your project to your student folder.
5. Select “Publish Movie”. Make sure ”This Computer” is highlighted and hit “Next”. Type in your name for the ”File Name” of the video, ”Publish to” the desktop, and hit “Next”. Select “Best quality for playback on my computer (recommended)” and hit “Publish”.
6. Attach your video in an email on FirstClass and send it to me.
